Hide Kawabata Special Exhibition

Comments for Hide's Art
Some years ago I received an email from Hideto Kawabata, sent to The Woodstock School of Art, where Iwas working.  It contained a friendly introduction and some images of his paintings. I was intrigued by his work and I answered his message. We began a correspondence that has lasted for several years.  Read More

"I am in awe of the detail, imagination, color and design of Hide's work. His work is striking and compassionate at the same time.   I am immediately drawn into the work and feel an immense amount of emotion when looking at a particular drawing.   He clearly paints from his heart.   The depth of spirit in each piece is quite extraordinary and captivating.    Hide is a gifted artist and, as an artist myself, I can truly appreciate the magnitude of his exceptional art" Read More

Hideto Kawabata became known to me in the late 1990s, on a tour bus going from Vienna to Budapest . We passed through immense fields of sunflowers, and I could see that the sea of yellow flowers and the red soils somehow struck a chord with him. Read More

I personally find Hide's drawings unique.  I have been trying to talk him into drawing a picture on a silk veil for me for  awhile now!  I like what he does.  I find him to be very innovative and very creative.  I would love to see his work more expressed here in the United States. Read More

Hide Kawabata has been my friend for a few years.  He is a lover of nature. He hopes for the peace and goodness of the hearts of all people on earth.  He is a spiritual person who gives many words of wisdom even if he thinks his english is poor.  You don't have to know a language well to say a few words to lighten someones heart. Hide can say in few words what some politicians can not say in an hour.  He is truly a giving and insightful spirit. Read More

Hide Kawabata is a great artist. Hide's art is complex and masterful, and can evoke strong emotions from his audience. His use of smooth continuous lines evoke power and strength, as well as comfort and vulnerability; an openness and invitation to see a new view, see a new vision or horizon. Hide's work has the element of trueness, of being one. Read More

I have known Kawabata since he was in Jr. High as an art teacher. I remember his work from those days very well but I was so impressed by his new work from the time he began working.  Fundamentals of his art hasn't changed since his Jr. high period and now I strongly feel that he is trying to dig his ideas from those days deeper.  Read More

I saw your website. I feel the power over floweded from the paintings nomatter how many times I see.  I am wondering where this image is comingfrom.  The same paintings give me differnt feelings each time I see.  Am I the only one feeling that the paintings are alive?  I hope that people from all over the world get to see his paintings throught the website. I feel so appriciated that I recieved the strong power and hidden tenderness from the paintings even if I don't have a talent in any artistic way.  I would like to enjoy his art on the future.  Thanks for the nice moment. I would like to make a comment each time I see.

His art has greater strictness and warmness than the famous Picasso's.  I believe the way he uses his colors must be greater than Picasso's. Looking at them for a long period of time doesn't bore me.  It seems like the complicated cells are being active in a healthy minuteness body.  I am convinced that it must the goddess/ Buddhist's technique.  I am delighted that I discovered Sensei's elaborated brain and I am touched by his reliability. I believe that this is the result of his tenderness put all together.

It is impossible for any of us to imitate Hide's paintings.  They are so unique.  They are complicated as the maze and the colors are used boldly. And More

I was a classmate with Mr. Kawabata in Junior high school.  Usually, up to one point, we try to paint an object by duplicating however; he had been developing his own unique way since he was in Jr. high.  All these projects are the compilations.

It looked like a"Deluded Forest". Golden dandelions were beautiful. It was a speechless masterpiece. Clouds looked revived.  It's like a dragon! Three suns. Town of a flame. And More

I'm fond of Kawabata's paintings and I have been supporting him for a long time. We find the tenderness in the strength, don't we? Hopefully, I get to see them right in front of my eyes. I am also looking forward for his new projects.Read More....
